In my day job I am an ecologist and scientific editor. Though I’ve spent most of my adult life trying to understand relationships among species, until recently, I mostly left my closest relationships untended. To be honest, for the most part, I didn’t even understand that relationships needed tending, let alone how to take care of them.
Given this, it was no surprise that after years of relative ease, when my decade old relationship with my partner began to get rocky, I had no idea how to fix it. Instead, I turned to blame, of him, or myself. Needless to say, that approach didn’t work so well and when we were on the verge of divorce, I found The Relationship School® .
What I learned in the Deep Psychology of Relationships (DPIR) course transformed what I know about relationships, what happens in the relationship space and how to do it differently. Relationships are work, every day, and mine did not become suddenly perfect, but it did persevere, and my new knowledge and experiences took me from feeling helpless and adrift, to feeling empowered to make change.
The transformational empowerment I gained from this experience inspired me to learn to help others and become a Relationship School® Level 1 certified coach. In my coaching practice I combine my scientific and relational minds to create an innovative space with the client. With that, and your hard work, together we can build the empowerment you need to be the leader of your own life.
